3,000 Qwara Jews to Immigrate Soon
Following a ministerial discussion on the immigration of northern-Ethiopian Qwara Jews to Israel, Immigration and Absorption Minister Yuli Edelstein said that the 3,000 Qwara Jews currently in Gundar are expected to be brought to Israel within weeks, Israel radio, KOL YISRAEL, reported. The forum agreed to send medical aid and food to the compound in Gundar and to make logistical and financial preparations to absorb the group. Edelstein will oversee the absorption process, while Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon coordinated the transfer of the Qwara Jews to Israel.
