Foundation to Host 4th Annual Black/Jewish Congressional Awards Ceremony?

In June of 2002, the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding will return to Washington, D.C. for the 4th Annual Black/Jewish Congressional Awards Ceremony and Reception. The Foundation will honor a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and a Jewish member of Congress with its "Racial Harmony Award" for their dedication to strengthening Black/Jewish relations within their communities. Last year's recipients, Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) and Congressman Jerold Nadler (D-NY) will present this year's awards. These awards are given in recognition of individuals who have worked tirelessly for many years both in their districts and in Washington to strengthen Black/Jewish relations.

This annual event serves as a reminder of the important work that African Americans and Jews have done jointly over the years to ensure equal rights for all. The Black/Jewish Congressional awards ceremony has become one of the most anticipated annual events on the Congressional calendar.
