Syrian Government Newspaper Claims Holocaust is "A Myth"

Once again, a Syrian government newspaper has claimed that the Holocaust is "a myth."

An article by Mohammed Daoud which appeared in the September 6, 2000 issue of the Syria Times and has been posted on the newspaper's web site (www.teshreen.com/syriatimes) declares:

"History doesn't witness people who mastered lying, dodgery, and creating myths as the Israelis. Of their most famous myths were the so-called Holocaust."

"As for gas chambers, no one doubts that they existed at arrest camps, but there are grave doubts that they were used to kill. Apparently, these gas chambers only existed for purification in which clothes and personal tools were put in order to sterilize them from germs. From all these crystal facts, we strongly believe that gas chambers were not used for the burning of Jews."

"There is a long list of Zionist leaders who strongly collaborated with the Nazis. For example, Chaim Weizmann, Moshe Sharett, David Ben-Gurion, Yitzhak Shamir, and others."
